Our Journey

In 1970, we began with a humble initiative — Baliraja, a monthly magazine dedicated exclusively to agriculture. Our purpose was simple yet meaningful: to educate farmers by sharing practical knowledge, modern techniques, and reliable agricultural information.

Baliraja was embraced across Maharashtra and neighboring states, soon becoming one of the most respected farmer-education platforms. For over five decades and three generations, it has remained a trusted voice in the farming community.

Today, M R Agro Informatics Pvt. Ltd. carries that same mission forward — connecting consumers directly with pure and authentic farm products.

The name “M R Agro” represents founders Mrunalini and Ravindra Bhosale, whose lifelong commitment spans agricultural publishing, farmer education, filmmaking, and sustainable agriculture — now extended to delivering farm-fresh quality to every household.

Baliraja — Five Decades of Educating Farmers

Our founders are not only filmmakers but pioneers in agricultural communication. Through Baliraja, they have built one of India’s influential farmer-education platforms spanning print, audio, video, television, and seminars — reaching millions across 20 states.

Milestones

  • 1996: Produced 21 agricultural lecture videos in English for national and international farmers and corporates.
  • 1998: Introduced farmer education through audio cassettes — bringing expert knowledge directly into the fields.
  • 2003 onwards: Began producing crop-specific agricultural documentary films based on farmers’ needs.

Our Contributions

  • 50+ agricultural documentary films in 4 languages — English, Marathi, Hindi, and Gujarati
  • 26 agricultural television programs for national broadcast
  • 6 films in collaboration with ICAR – National Research Centre for Grapes
  • Biographical and subject-oriented agricultural films
  • Pioneer of crop-specific educational video learning for farmers
  • Our film “Jaivik Kheti” (Organic Farming) received two prestigious National Film Awards from the Hon. President of India.

  • Daily operational guidance for farmers from sowing to harvesting

Cinema for Social Change

We produced the inspiring feature film Kapus Kondyachi Goshta (An Unending Story), addressing:

  • Hardships of small farmers
  • Debt-related farmer suicides
  • Resilience of rural families

The film was screened in villages and schools and telecast on Zee Talkies Marathi channel, encouraging farmers during a difficult period in Indian agriculture. It was globally recognised and received several international recognitions and was also selected for Oscar contention.
